CeMAT enjoyed its inaugural event at Sydney Olympic Park 5 through 7 May this year. The conference—a global intralogistics and materials handling event— brought together hundreds of visitors from around the world to preview a wide range of integrated and efficient approaches to materials handling and transport logistics.
Wolfgang Pech, Senior vice president of Deutsche Messe— the company that owns the CeMAT brand—was impressed with the success of day one, saying that the performance of the conference’s exhibitors exceeded everyone’s expectations.
“Walking around the show, you can see a fantastic line
up of exhibitors featuring technologies, products, and system solutions that are ready now for the logistics market in this region and the rest of the world,” he said.
The first day of CeMAT included colourful and interactive displays from bigname exhibitors, including Hyundai Forklifts, SeaBox International, hrd-Logistic Products, Lonking Holdings, DB Schenker, Knapp, adaptalift, and Vivid Industrial, to name only a few.
Key speakers from the conference included Armin Weih, deputy managing director of VDMA; Nathan McKenzie, CEO of Speedshield Technologies; and Ron Koehler, CEO AU/NZ of DB Schenker.
The conference closed with a statement from Pech, encouraging the entire industry to continue to support shows like CeMAT in order to drive the industry forward and provide solutions that will not just deliver return on investment, but also improve the safety of employees.
“The theme for CeMAT has been around creating smoother and smarter warehouse systems and how that plays into everyday business operations; these solutions will deliver much revenue on the bottom line,” said Mr Pech.
CeMAT 2015 included over 100 exhibitors on show for three days, a conference on day one, workshops on day two and industry site visits on day three. Next year’s CeMAT conference will take place 12 to 14 July 2016 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
